Based on the buzz on Twitter the last few days, the NAPO Conference was a huge success, with lots of great speakers and fantastic networking. Reading about it sure has me pumped for the upcoming Forum on Virtual Assistance I’ll be attending next month! Although nothing can compare to a live conference in terms of a learning experience, if you weren’t able to attend, you’ll be pleased to learn about an exciting new program that’s starting on May 12.

Certified Professional Organizers Patty Kreamer and Leslie McKee are launching a new training program for new and established organizers, called PO Push. The program consists of seven weekly teleclasses, covering the following topics:
Week 1: The Basics
The first session teaches you how to lay the foundation for your new business, including legal issues, building your team, and much more. Patty and Leslie are so sure that you’ll benefit from PO Push that you can take this class for free before you even commit to the rest of the program!
Week 2: Putting The Professional In Professional Organizer
The second class covers important issues such as writing your business plan and mission statement and developing your policies and procedures. Although it’s ideal to have these things in place right from the beginning, it’s never too late!
Week 3: Show Me The Money – How To Be Financially Responsible
Sure, you started your business because you love to organize, but we all have bills to pay! In the third teleclass, you’ll learn about budgeting, setting your fees, and other crucial financial concerns.
Week 4: Needs Assessments
In order to provide services that will benefit your clients, you have to know how to ask the right questions up front. In week 4, you’ll learn how to conduct an initial consultation over the telephone and avoid making common mistakes.
Week 5: Organizing Skills
In this session, you’ll learn about the organizing process, including important safety tips and helping your clients to stay organized after your work is done.
Week 6: Ideal Client
You are so much more likely to be successful when you focus your marketing efforts on a specific target market, and in Week Six, you’ll learn how to identify your ideal client. You can then determine where to find those clients and the best ways to reach them.
Week 7: Marketing
The final teleclass will teach you about marketing strategies that are free and inexpensive, yet effective in getting the word out about your organizing business. Networking and PR will also be covered in this session.
The above teleclasses will take place on Tuesdays from 6:45 to 8:00 PM Eastern time, and will consist of one hour of instruction followed by a 15-minute question and answer period. In addition, 7 small group teleconferences will be held throughout the course of the program. All calls will be recorded, so if you’re unable to listen in or would like to review the material, you’ll be able to do so at your convenience.
Patty Kreamer has been one of my online contacts since I started researching the organizing industry, and I have always been impressed with her professionalism and her expertise. Patty has received several awards since establishing her organizing business 10 years ago. Leslie McKee, her co-instructor for PO Push, is a former teacher who has been a professional organizer since 2000. Between the two of them, they have a wealth of knowledge and experience to share.
This is a great opportunity to learn from two experienced organizers, so if you missed the NAPO Conference or if you were there and are psyched to keep on learning, visit Patty’s Online Store to sign up for the full program or your no-risk free trial class.

This program was such a hit that it’s being offered again this fall, starting on September 8th. For further information, go to http://organizing-business.com/goto/byebyeclutter/.
