It seems that all the buzz these days is about Twitter, but there’s another important social network that’s been around even longer. Established in 2003, LinkedIn currently reports 45 million users, approximately three times as many as Twitter.

Anyone can call herself (or himself) a professional organizer, regardless of training or experience, which can make it difficult for consumers to know whether the consultant they contact has the skills to effectively perform the services they require. For this reason, the Board of Certification for Professional Organizers was formed, and the first CPO designations granted in 2007.

Professional Organizers in Canada (POC) recently announced the nominees for this year’s Harold Taylor Award, which was created in 2001 to recognize outstanding individual contribution, guidance and direction to the organizing profession and the association.
