Over the past few years, many of you have received exposure for your business through the Professional Organizers Blog Carnival or as a guest blogger for Your Organizing Business. It is with much excitement that I introduce my latest project, a blogging community for professional organizers and productivity consultants.

Organized Bloggers is a new blog site where members of the organizing industry can share their expertise with the general public, free of charge.
If you
… are you thinking about blogging, but don’t know where to start…
… want a blog, but don’t have time to update it regularly…
… would like a blog, but don’t want the bother of maintaining it…
… already have a blog, but would like an outlet for reaching new readers…
you owe it to yourself and your organizing business to get in on the ground floor of this exciting new venture!
Members will be provided with helpful resources, so if you’re new to WordPress or to blogging, you don’t have to figure it all out for yourself.
We are now accepting registrations, and once enough members are on board and have submitted content, the blog will go live.
I look forward to welcoming you and your colleagues to the Organized Bloggers community!

Ahhh! So THIS is the new project you’ve been working on. Very exciting, Janet. I’m not sure I understand it completely. Will you continue also with the PO Blog Carnival? Is this project in addition to the Carnival? Will you want only “new” content for the new project, as opposed to the Carnival where we recycle content? Do tell? All sounds very exciting!

Those are very good questions, Linda! I will definitely be continuing with the PO Blog Carnival and I imagine that people will use Organized Bloggers in different ways:
- for some it will be instead of having their own blog (maybe while they test the waters)
- for some it will be like a second blog, where they post different content than on their main blog
- some might use Organized Bloggers to recycle some of their older content, to give it new life
Those are just three possibilities – I can’t wait to see some other ideas!
I hope this is helpful – please don’t hesitate to ask any other questions you may have.

So you want only “original” content for the new project then?

I wouldn’t recommend posting something on your own blog and on OB around the same time, because then you’d be competing with yourself for reader attention, but it doesn’t have to be original content.

It will probably become clearer once we have enough content to proceed to Phase 2, when we launch the blog to the public. Nine bloggers have already signed up, so it shouldn’t take long!

Rachel, the easiest way to know when it’s live is to subscribe to Organized Bloggers, either by RSS or email. You’ll find the icons to do that at the top of the screen. I hope you’ll decide to join!
