I’ve been working with WordPress for several years now, and am completely and utterly in love with it. Its simplicity allows even new businesses on a limited budget to have a professional site that’s easy to maintain, yet it’s powerful enough to meet the demands of seasoned business owners looking for something more upscale.

Every once in a while, someone suggests that I set external links in my blog posts to open in new windows, so people won’t inadvertently leave my site. I understand their reasoning, because that was a widely accepted practice for a long time and is still fairly common. I did it myself until a few years ago.

New social media sites are cropping up all the time and it seems like I’m being invited to join something-or-other nearly every week. Since it’s unrealistic to try and maintain an active presence everywhere, I tend to wait and see whether a particular site is going to be worth my while before jumping on the bandwagon. Such was the case with Pinterest.
