How to find a great photographer in a hurry

One thing I’ve noticed since I started my business is that everything leads to something else.

To establish an online presence, you need social media profiles. And to create compelling profiles, you need a decent headshot.

See what I mean?

So what do you do if you’ve got a speaking engagement or other important event coming up, and you’ve just realized that the headshot on your profiles was taken five years ago, when you had different glasses, a different hairstyle, and maybe even a different hair color? Time for a new headshot, right?

If you’ve already worked with a professional photographer that you’re happy with, you’re all set – as long as they’re available when you need them. Otherwise, you’ll probably ask your colleagues for their recommendations, do some online searches, call around, and hopefully find someone who can work within your timelines and budget.

This process can really cut into your valuable time – but soon you’ll have another option!

Book a professional photographer with the Galaxy Photoz appToronto photographer Leanne Ferguson is launching a new service which will allow you to book a photographer the same way you book an UBER! When Galaxy Photoz launches this June, you’ll be able to simply download the app or go online and be connected to a vetted professional photographer within minutes. You can even book for same day service!

The photographers specialize in Maternity, Newborn, Cake Smash, Headshots, Engagements, Wedding, Events, Model Portfolio and Portraits.

Instead of leaving a deposit with someone you just found on the internet, your deposit will be held by Galaxy Photoz until you receive your images. And if you’re not happy with your photos, another photographer will re-shoot them for you, free of charge.

The service launches in Toronto in June, with plans to expand across North America as well.

If you like the idea, check out the crowdfunding campaign, which starts today. As a supporter, you’ll receive a thank-you gift as well as being one of the first to see the new on-demand mobile app.

    1. Wow! What a clever business idea. And how fantastic that while the business will launch in Toronto, it will be available throughout North America too. I’d love to give it a try once its ready to go.

    2. That is an interesting idea. Not sure it would work for a wedding, as you can’t just “reshoot” the event. Would be perfect for portraits, though. More a guarantee than you would normally get!

      • Any kind of event would be a challenge (though I suppose some shots could be staged, and even that is better than nothing), but for portraits, headshots, etc. I think it’s a great idea.
