In a ClosetMaid survey conducted in 2021, 88% of the respondents said they have at least one junk drawer. That’s a lot of drawers!
It stands to reason then that many people are looking for ways to make better use of this often-problematic spot in their home or office. For that reason, I asked my readers to submit posts about junk drawers to this edition of the Productivity & Organizing Blog Carnival.
Check out all the great submissions, and be sure to show the bloggers your appreciation by leaving comments and sharing their blog posts (or this one) with your network, using the hashtag #POBC in your social media posts.

Hard not to love a junk drawer! Love all of these ideas for getting them organized with so many different perspectives. Thank you for including my post, Janet.
I’m pleased you had something to contribute, Linda. I know some of these topics are a bit more “hands on” than many of your posts, which tend to be more motivational. We need both types!
So many terrific contributions on this one! You can see that the “junk drawer” is a hot topic among organizers. I think it is the kind of project where people can get fairly quick and wonderfully tangible results. Thanks for including my post!
Yes, this was a popular one, and your video was a great addition!
What an awesome round up of articles about junk drawers! Here’s one more just in case (and thank you to Janet who graciously said I could leave this here in the comments!) Compassionate, caring and a fantastic example of a business owner. Thank you Janet! https://theorganizedmilitarylife.com/what-is-a-junk-drawer/
Thanks for sharing your post, Jana – I was really disappointed that you hadn’t submitted it!
I’m a big fan of organized junk drawers. Thanks for making this collection. It’s wonderful!
It is a good one, isn’t it? Thanks for your excellent contribution.
Junk drawers are so much fun to organize because they’re small projects that built big, successful habits (and you always find mystery items and things you’d thought were lost)! Thank you so much for including my post!
Ooh, I love the way you explained that – and so succinctly! I loved your post as well.
