Best of 2020 – Productivity & Organizing Blog Carnival

There’s no doubt that everyone’s looking forward to saying goodbye to this historic year. But before we do that, let’s take a few minutes to reflect on our good experiences. Here are a few of mine:
- Although it’s mainly been virtual, I’ve spent more time with some people during 2020 than I ever have in the past.
- By staying home for months, I saved a ton of money on gas, restaurant meals, and even clothes.
- I’ve learned to be more flexible and creative, especially in the kitchen.
- I’ve read a lot of amazing books, giving me a chance to escape to different places, times, and realities.
I’ve also read hundreds of blog posts, receiving information and inspiration on a wide range of topics. But I wanted to read even more! And so, for the final Productivity & Organizing Blog Carnival of the year, I asked my readers to submit their Best of 2020. I left it up to them how to interpret the word “best” but a few of the reasons shared with me for the selections were:
“This was my most popular post of the year.”
“WordPress had this as my top post for 2020!”
“I picked this one because well 2020 and also because it had the most comments.”
“I think my best post is this recent one about … my own big project of the month.”
“I submitted the one with the most heart. Turns out that it also had a high number of comments, but it wasn’t why I chose it.”
“I’m considering this post to be my ‘best’ because it started my idea to create a series of articles (four more) around one topic. It also showcases my first Canva-designed infographic!”
“It had the highest number of pageviews.”
“I asked everyone I know.”
As you read what my readers consider their best posts of 2020, you’re sure to pick up some valuable tips and perhaps even some inspiration for your own blog.

What a great idea to have us submit these. It is interesting that we interpreted “best” differently. My submission had so many more hits than normal that it ended up being my most read blog ever!

I enjoyed reading the blog post titles, especially in the context of each bloggers definition of “best.” It will be fun reading the posts too. What a year we’ve had! It looks like a good percentage of the posts are pandemic-related, which is no surprise. I also loved reading the ways bloggers chose what to submit. I remember having that conversation with you about this and love how you incorporated it into the post. Way to go, Janet!
I think the collection really encapsulates the year we’ve had. Lots of different ways to deal with the pandemic, but also a reminder that that’s just one part of our lives and there are lots of other things to think about too.

What a great collection! I chose the blog that was my favorite because no matter whatever happens around me or to me, I will always advocate for sending personal handwritten cards–kindness you can hold in your hand!
I love receiving cards in the mail! I’m sad that I’ve only received 6 Christmas cards this year (so far) and most of them are commercial. I only sent out a few but hope to do more throughout the year.
