Where I live in Canada, and in many other places, it’s time to pull out the winter coats, boots, hats, mittens and scarves. That’s a lot of extra stuff to keep near the door – especially if you’ll be doing a lot of entertaining over the holiday season.
To help you deal with this challenge, not just now but throughout the year, I invited my readers to share their blog posts about Organizing Entryways & Mudrooms. Read on to learn everything you need to know, and to view some of their own organizing projects.

This is such an important space to get working efficiently. It is also one that requires regular attention. I just worked with a client yesterday, and it was so rewarding. Thanks for including me in this great roundup, Janet!
My pleasure, Seana! You probably don’t remember, but you actually suggested this topic two or three years ago – I finally got around to using it, and I’m glad I did. You and your colleagues have come up with some really creative ideas!
I agree with Seana! The entryway is a crucial part to keep organized. No one likes to enter a home that is cluttered right when you enter. I don’t like it one bit. My foyer is close to my living room space, and I can easily see the room from the front door. So, over the years, I got into the habit of straightening up the living room before I left for work so when I returned, it looked neat. When I didn’t do this, I would get super stressed walking into the house and glancing at the space, and that wasn’t acceptable because I prefer to consider my home an oasis. Thanks for including me in the post.
You’re so right! And it’s super annoying to come home after a busy day and trip over someone else’s shoes or other belongings too.
This is a great round-up of tips. An organized entryway or mudroom can make such a difference in a home. Thanks for including me in this post!
It’s always good to read your posts, Nancy!
I enjoyed reading these delightful assortment of creative ideas! Although every home may not have dedicated floor space for an entryway, every home can offer a unique welcome to those who enter.
Thanks for the opportunity to share my post.
That’s an excellent point, Olive! Thanks for giving us a peek at your own entryway.
