Jan Lehman contacted me last fall to discuss some content and design changes for her Can the Clutter website. The site was very narrow by today’s standards, forcing visitors to scroll to read even short blog posts. In addition, she was no longer happy with the bright colors.

Jan’s original designer had created her custom WordPress theme in a way that didn’t lend itself to changes of this nature, so I suggested switching to a new theme such as The Core. Because the Core is very versatile, it could easily be customized to meet Jan’s needs at a much lower cost than a new custom design.

After choosing the Kaufman version of the theme, Jan and her team sent me a set of Design Sheets to show me how they’d like their content to be arranged on the various pages, accompanied by written instructions.

Having such an organized client certainly made my job easier!

Not simply a redesign, the new website incorporates a new Before and After Gallery with cool slider effects, a pricing table, and a contact form which integrates with Jan’s CRM and email marketing systems.

As part of this project, Jan reviewed all of her existing website content, combining some pages and eliminating others, to present a clearer message to prospective clients.

Jan and Jenny were a joy to work with, and happily, the feelings were mutual. Here’s what Jan said when the project was all done:
