As seen last week, there are dozens of conferences taking place this year and many reasons to invest in continuing education. Depending on your availability and your budget, you can probably only get to one or two. To give you more insight into what happens at various events, I asked my readers to share their blog posts about the conferences they attended last year.
Based on the responses, I’m guessing that not as many people have gone back to conferences following the pandemic as I’d thought, but I hope that reading the following posts will help you decide which ones would be a good fit for you.
Julie Stobbe | From insights to inspiration: why you should say yes to conferences |
Kathy Stinson | Five Wonderful Writing Conference Surprises |
Linda Samuels | How 3 Useful Changes Can Make Positive Differences in Your Life |
Sara Skillen | NAPO 2024: Tales From Behind the Table |
Thanks to everyone who contributed to this month’s Blog Carnival!
The topic for the next Productivity & Organizing Blog Carnival will be Organizing Email, and you’re welcome to submit your post any time before 11:59 PM on February 19, 2025.

I’m just one datapoint, but although I attended every NAPO conference (and some regional ones) for 19 years straight (and the 2021 virtual NAPO conference), I am definitely not ready to sit in a room with hundreds of unmasked people, particularly right at the end of winter/early spring. I absolutely miss all the benefits of attending conference and was eager to see who would post and about what events.
I’d read Sara’s and Linda’s posts when they came out, and Julie’s just this week, but I’m heading off to read Kathy’s post about writing conferences. Too cool!
It seems you’re in good company, Julie. It’s great that there are a number of virtual opportunities, but it’s just not the same, is it?
What fun reading or re-reading about the conferences. And it was fascinating to read about Kathy’s experience. While the conference she shared about wasn’t related to organizing or productivity, it spoke to some reasons to attend conferences…connections, people, reflections, and growth.
It sure made me long to have the conference experience again!
