When I launched Your Organizing Business in 2009, there weren’t many other blogs specifically geared towards professional organizers. Most of the ones I remember no longer exist.
There still aren’t many blogs for professional organizers, so I’ve curated a list for your reading enjoyment.
Institute for Professional Organizers
The first blog on my list is written by Anne Blumer, who sponsored the Professional Organizers Blog Carnival – 10th Anniversary Edition and is one of my clients.
Read my interview with Anne Blumer.
The author of Mastering the Business of Organizing A Guide to Plan, Launch, Manage, Grow, and Leverage a Profitable, Professional Organizing Business, Anne also offers training programs and a Professional Organizers Toolkit. In the Institute for Professional Organizers blog, she shares her expertise in becoming a professional organizer, starting and growing an organizing business, getting certified, and working with clients.
Pro Organizer Studio
Jen Obermeier is the founder of Pro Organizer Studio and creator of the Inspired Organizer® program. She’s previously been featured here in an interview and as the guest author of Creative Ways to Attract Clients for Your Professional Organizing Business.
Jen produces the Pro Organizer Studio blog and podcast, which covers branding, business, marketing and sales, along with Program Director Melissa Klug.
Organizing U
I had the pleasure of dining with Sarah Buckwalter at the 2015 POC Conference in Toronto, not long after she sponsored the Becoming a Professional Organizer – Professional Organizers Blog Carnival. She has also appeared here as the guest author of Marketing Your Virtual Organizing Services.
The founder of Organizing Boston, Sarah offers organizer training through Organizing U, where she’s blogged about a variety of topics to help you start and grow your organizing business.
My Professional Organizer
My Professional Organizer is “your go-to resource for growing and scaling your professional organizer business to six figures and beyond.” It is run by Olivia Parks and Aaron Traub, who have both been guest bloggers here.

Janet,
I can’t thank you enough for including Metropolitan Organizing as one of your 5 Must-Read Blogs for Professional Organizers! . I’m now in my 19th year of business and the industry continues to change and grow in ways I never imagined when I began. For many years you have consitently provided valuable information to Professional Organizers and on behalf of all, I’d like to say thank you.
I agree with Geralin and thank YOU for your support of Professional Organizers. I’ll follow all of these bloggers with great joy:)
You guys are wonderful; thanks for your kind words!
Great collection of blogs! It is wonderful the service you provide Professional Organizers. Thank you for being so laser-focused on my industry. I really appreciate it.
What a wonderful list of resources! Anne and Geralin are some of my favorite people. And you…well, what can I say? You are such tremendous support to organizers in many ways- from designing and managing websites to giving organizers opportunities to grow and share their audiences to keeping bloggers informed about the latest resources, ideas, and strategies.
It’s readers like you that have kept me going all these years! Thank you so much.
Add me to the list of those who really appreciate your truly foundational support of our profession, Janet! Your Organizing Business is a must-read! I’ve been loving Geralin’s blog since the beginning, so you get big thumbs-up for including it. I know the other blogs, but it’s been a while since I’d read Anne’s or Sarah’s blogs, and it seems like Jen’s Pro Organizer Studio has become HUGE. This post will be essential for new organizers, but it’s a great way to keep atop the trends in our profession. Yay!
Julie, I’d almost forgotten that you were the FIRST person to see Your Organizing Business, because I asked for your input. That was a good move – your advice got me off to such a strong start that I’ve been able to keep it going all these years.
Janet, I’m truly stunned and touched to be listed in your top 5 blogs for professional organizers to read! Thank you for this honor. I agree with Geralin, and I think your blog should be listed first in this list.
But of course you are! You have lots of valuable information! Thanks for saying mine should be listed first. It just didn’t feel right somehow.
